Large File Playback

I've looked through the forum hoping to figure this out for myself, but I see conflicting answers. I have 2 HD1010s and need to synchronize them to play/loop a single ~6GB video file on each unit. Can I use BrightAuthor to set this up and publish it to an NTFS formatted SD card, or is scripting the only way to loop a file this large? Thanks! Jack

    No writing is supported to ntfs currently. You would need to use a script for the sync.

    But, there is another file system you can use that we do support. You can format your cards as EXT3. But, you'll need to download a windows utility to do the format, and for your windows system to view and write to the ext3 formatted flash card, you'll need a windows ext3 driver installed. we haven't done extensive testing with ext3, but I have two other customers using ext3 for synchronizing larger than 4gb files.

    Great, EXT3 is fine.  I have a box with Ubuntu, so I can format it there.  Do you have a recommendation for an EXT3 driver that works with Windows 7?

    I've seen this:
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.paragon-software.com/home/extbrowser/">http://www.paragon-software.com/home/extbrowser/</a><!-- m -->

    But it seems like it might be problematic since it requires a "special unmapped folder in My Computer".....whatever that is.

    There are also these:
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.fs-driver.org/index.html">http://www.fs-driver.org/index.html</a><!-- m -->
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ext2fsd.com/">http://www.ext2fsd.com/</a><!-- m -->

    But no support Windows 7, evidently.

    ....duh, actually, I should just be able to copy the authored files to my network and use my linux box to copy them to the SD card.... <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt=":oops:" title="Embarassed" /><!-- s:oops: -->

    Thanks,

    Is there any sample scripts available for looping a video? So one can put a large (12 GB) videofile on a NTFS formated SD-card and use it in a HD110?

    Hi there, I am also having trouble playing 5 x 10GB video files synced. The custom script has been deleted and or removed from dropbox. Can play a single video off NTFS card but cannot sync multiple videos. Much help needed please..

    Using the attached custom autorun, you can playback ntfs files using our brightauthor software. I'm assuming you aren't going to be doing updates over the network.

    You can publish your project and then replace the autorun.brs with this one. Or, you can go to the file menu, select presentation properties, then select autorun, and add a custom autorun to the project you're publishing.

    Ah, this is brilliant! I've just tried it with a fairly complex project where a HD210 is controlled via network, playing a lot of different films. I NTFS formated a 16 GB SD-card, changed one of the films to a 6 GB big one and downloaded everything from BrighAuthor, works like a charm!  <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
