Video Skipping

I am having skipping issues with the video on my brightsign. I am using bright author to loop a single video using the custom "autorun.brs" file that will let me write/read to an NTFS flash card, as my video files are ~15GB. It plays the first few seconds of the video fine, then starts skipping and drops audio. I am using Sony Vegas to render to: *MPEG2 format *1920x1080 *30,000,000Mb/s *192Kbps Audio I tried a shorter video (~15 seconds long) and it plays completely fine. Thanks.

30Mbps is higher than what we normally recommend, 25Mbps. Keep in mind once you get above 20Mbps, you need a high performance flash card.

The most likely culprit is your flash card.

It's also possible that there's uneven distribution of audio and video packets in the mpeg stream. This is an encoding issue normally. On your computer which has more ram and cache than the brightsign, videos that aren't optimized still play fine, but on the brightsign, a video that has uneven distribution of video and audio packets can play with problems.

From the brightsign shell you can run a readperf filename test to see how fast the brightsign is reading from your flash card.
