BrightAuthor Feature Request

It would be really useful if BrightAuthor was able to access the real time clock to then issue commands. Only way to do that at present is by way of the schedule which interrupts the program content. It would be good for instance to send a serial string at a particular time of day regardless of the mpeg or jpeg currently showing.
