Wildcard for filenames?

I have a customer that would like to be able to simply copy image files to a card and play them in a loop without creating a script or doing any specific authoring. Of course it works to do this and accept the default Slideinterval 3 and the Imagemode 0. But a slightly longer interval and Imagemode 1 is really what works for him. Is there any way of simply providing a wildcard or otherwise forcing a "play all slides" while still specifying a couple other options? Dick

You need a script. THe script would always need to be present on the card.

There's an outstanding bug, that once fixed, will also allow this script to be loaded into memory on the unit so that he can use the "new" settings as a default.

    Is it only images?

Yes.  No video, only images that have been collected over the 37 year span of an organization that they want to display during breaks of their seminars.  Lots of different aspect ratios, resolutions and filenames.  Yet they want to be able to throw in photos taken during the current session to keep it contemporary, so they would rather just be able to copy the pictures to the SD card and be done with it.

It would be ideal to be able to just set the defaults, then let them move pictures in and out at will.

I'm a 36 year graduate of one of their courses, so I've taken a personal interest in getting them something that works well for them

I was expecting there might be some kind of response to my last email.  You asked a question and I replied.  Is this bug that you mentioned scheduled for a fix?  My customer has been waiting for a solution.  I'm not going to sell them a system that won't be satisfactory for them.

So, this bug is fixed in 3.5.77 and 3.7.44 where you can load a file into memory. With this script, readme included, you can load a script file into memory.

I have a simple looping script I'm doing some testing on for another customer that loops content alphabetically. It lets you plug in a usb thumb drive and automatically replaces the content on the sd card. I'm not done with it yet, but if you send me an email at support @ brightsign . biz, I'll forward it to you, and I'll post it here as well.
