Hello,

is there an updated manual for ROKU OBJECT REFERENCE (Version >4.0, new generation HD player) availible?

    Hi,

    The latest BrightSign Object reference currently available is the version below:

    I believe that we're updating the current documentation but I'm not able to give you an ETA on its availability as yet.

    Please try your best. I'm very interested in using the new roCanvas object and would like to know the interfaces.

    I have also asked the same question..... actually about 2 months ago! I was told "it is coming..." 

    Brightsign has really dropped the ball! How can it take 2 months to produce a document that should have been released at the same time as the new firmware release. 

    There seems to be a growing number of dissatisfied long term brightsign customers. 

    Are you guys listening..... hello..?

    Andrew, yes, we're listening. Sorry about the delay in getting the object reference done. I will look if there's an early draft of the document I can release.  I'm not sure what you mean by a growing number of dissatisfied long term customers. I know there have been complaints about the forum itself. Is there something specific you're referring to?

    Hmmmm. Another month passes and still no documentation! I see a bunch of new features coming through, and no documentation. 

    Support America, you guys have really dropped the ball. And you said you were listening........

    Thanks for your comment, we have been working on the documentation as we have mentioned. I hope you have noticed our news release today outlining our new XD product line. We're aligning our release of the new Object Reference Manual to coincide with this new product line. Hope this extra bit of information makes it clear why we haven't released an update.

    If there are excerpts of the document or specific things you'd like to get guidance on, please ask and we'll release them as a tech note to get you going.

    BrightSign will be releasing the next version of the BrightScript Object Reference Manual within the next two weeks in anticipation of the XD series launch. It includes detailed documentation of new features, including roCanvasWidget and roHTMLWidget. 

    The new Object Reference Manual does not have complete explanations for all objects/methods, though it lists them all. If you would like fuller documentation for certain object(s)/method(s), please let us know, and we'll update as soon as possible.
