Brightsign + RFID

I'm currently working on a "smart shelf" demo for a customer.   I wish to use a brightsign unit and a  I'm looking to use a speedway revolution RFID reader from Impinj.

I've been reading back and forth between Impinj and brightsign and on paper it appears that the two systems can talk the same language over the HID system  (keyboard emulation on USB).  I'd have to tell the reader to send the output in the proper format for the brightsign unit to treat it as standard keyboard/barcode input.

I'd love to hear from anybody that actually has done this 1st person.

A link to the reader is available on request (don't want to spam the forum)

Comments/feedback will be appreciated on any brand.  :-)

    Hi,

One of our customer successfully used the below device with a BS player:

    Hi,

I design and build interactive displays and automated show experiences for museums and attractions.

I have successfully used RFID technology with the Brightsign for a number of projects now. I am not familiar with the reader you are using, however if it utilizes a stardard HID keyboard type interface it should work fine. I wrote some custom scripts to get the Brightsign to do exactly what I needed. It works very well. The system can also detect a tag code that is not 'on the system' and play a different video/audio file along the lines of "try again...."

I'm not sure on the details of your application, but I have used these readers and tags successfully with the Brightsign:

Hope this is of some help.

    Cheers,

Hello... did you have success with the  Impinj RFID?

If so, which ones did you use?

    Regards
