MP4 video with AC3 multichanel

Good morning,

I try to play an MP4 video with a Sorround AC3.

We configure the audio to passthru by HDMI, but dosen't work.

Somebody can suggest any idea? Some configuration to make the video and sorround, or configuration with BrightAuthor.

    Hello,

    We normally recommend using the ac3 audio in an mpeg2 video file. Here are two sample files you can download and try:

    The files aren't actually zipped. They were renamed from their .ts extension to .zip so they will download. Once downloaded, just rename the extension to .ts.

    BrightSign doesn't decode ac3 audio, but passes it through HDMI (HD and XD units) or SPDIF (XD units). So, if unit is connected to a display that has built in ac3 decode, you will hear audio, or if you are going through a receiver that does ac3 decode, it will work.

    In BrightAuthor presentation you can click on Zone Properties button and specify the audio output.

    Thanks for your information,

    But dosen't work. Today I try it, but can get audio through HDMI output.

    I try to download your examples files, but are corrupt zip file.

    If anyone can try this video and tell me something, I will be very grateful

    Did you rename the file extension of the files from .zip to .ts?

    Tomorrow I try with the Brightsign.

    How can I convert the video files with AC3 Audio to .ts files?

    You can use a free tool called TSMuxer (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/tsMuxeR) to convert your file (must already have ac3 audio in it) to .ts

    You can also use this tool to mux a video and audio stream output from something like Adobe Media Encoder.

    Again, You must already have the files in the correct format e.g. m4v/m2v and .ac3

    To solve the MP4 AC3 issue, I know a quite nice solution. It can handle MP4 video with AAC stereo (2 channels), MP4 video with AAC 5.1(6 channels), MP4 video with AC3 stereo and MP4 video with AC3 5.1. Find it here: http://www.bigasoft.com/articles/how-to-convert-video-to-mp4-ac3-5.1.html
