Error uploading file xxxx to Brightsign

Since the previous BA update I'm experiencing errors when using the local network mode to update my brightsign.

It refuses to upload files like images and movies. Files like .xml are uploading fine, but as soon it tries to upload an image or movie file it throws an error like in the title. There is nothing wrong with the files, they worked before in BA. It happens also with plain jpg files.

Using local network always helped save time in the development stage at the office so I really hope you guys have a solution.

Thanks!

What operating system and what BA version are you using? How much RAM does your computer have?

Sometimes this issue could happen with credentialed brightsign unit. Did you specify a user name and password for a local web server when creating setup files for the unit? If yes, I would recommend to re-create setup files, but leave the user name and password fields blank for a local web server. Power up the unit with new setup files and try to publish after that.

I followed your advice and it seems to work. Thanks for the suggestion.
    I left the credentials blank.

But why wouldn't it work when I right-click the player in the 'networked units-list' and enter the correct credentials? Doesn't BA remember them correctly?

    btw, Using latest BA 3.5.0.24

Anil, what kind of network updates are you doing (brightsign network, local network, simple file network)?

You need to resize the images. The maximum width of the image can't exceed 1920. The maximum height can't exceed 1080. Once the images are resized, you need to add them to the project and upload it to your network account. Ideally, the size of the image should match the size of the zone.

The image size is less than 1920x1080 the same issue seems to come up. Videos work fine the problem is only with pictures.

We are getting this same error.  Image sizes have been verified as correct.  We have teh BA unit setup on the local network.  Thoughts?  Suggestions?

Keith, can you try publishing an empty project over Local Network, one without any content just text or maybe a clock, and see if it fails?

Thanks for your reply.  As you suggested, I did try to publish a PPT project with text only in JPEG format over Local Network and it worked.  In the past, that is the only files that will upload.  Seems that anything with graphics fails.

    Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Thanks again.

I would recommend you to reset the brightsign unit to factory defaults.

Then open BrightAuthor, go to Tools - Setup BrightSign unit, and create new setup files for Local Networking from the scratch.

Do not specify the user name and password for a local web server in the middle of setup window. Leave the credentials blank. Save setup files onto SD card, power up the unit with SD card, and try to publish after that.

    Hello,

I am having this exact problem with one of my brighsign clients, I followed the instructions above and was able to rectify the issue by using Local File Networking with no username and password. However, this is a High School installation and leaving the players unsecured is not an option. I cannot get BrightAuthor to upload a file larger than 500mb when there is a password assigned. Is their a solution to this problem yet?

I'm having similar problems with >500MB files as well.
