HD220 Upd LED stays on

I have a new HD220 that I just received about a month ago. I was using it in my office for testing playback quality of client provided videos before loading onto units in the field (uploading content via local networking). The unit worked just fine for about a week then it just stopped working and all I see is the yellow Upd LED staying on. I have tried multiple times to reboot with and without the SD card.

Any clues on what I can do to get this unit working again?

    Hi,
Please do a full format of SD card in FAT32. Make sure SD card isn't locked.
Then try running the reset script on the unit. Copy the attached autorun.brs file to a blank SD card and power up the unit with it. Make sure the file has autorun name and brs extension. If your system adds additional symbols to the file name or file extension, the unit will not understand the script.
Test with a different SD card.
Check the LED activity on the front side of the unit. Are the red "Err" lights blinking there? If so, count the number of times they're flashing.
Try updating the firmware on the player to the latest version available at our support site:

If the firmware update fails, try updating the firmware with secure boot.

Regarding the unit and your troubleshooting recommendations, when I plug in the HD220 unit I don't get a green pwr led, only a solid yellow upd led immediately when power is applied. I tried two separate power supplies also. It also doesn't seem to matter if I have a SD card in the unit or not, the unit doesn't seem to get to any state to read a SD card or illuminate the green pwr led. I know the unit is not dead, but I am trying to understand this solid yellow upd led condition at power up.

Did you try to reset the unit to factory defaults and updating the firmware on the player with secure boot? It does not matter in what order you will perform these actions.

to me it looks a broken unit ..  did you power it (accidentally) with a wrong power supply?

I had a case where the customer did that and from that point he had this problem (solid yellow led at boot).. that is exactly what you are describing.. we did RMA the unit..

In my case the new unit work just fine for about 1 week here in my office. It was powered by the power supply that came with it. When it failed, as part of troubleshooting, I swapped the power supply with a power supply from a HD120 and the problem stayed with the HD220 not the power supply. I think my unit is indeed bad also. How do I go about requesting an RMA?

Was this purchased from BrightSign or a distributor? If it was purchased from a distributor, please contact them to setup a return. If not, please provide us with the serial number and invoice # for the player. Create a support ticket on our web site and send this information to the ticket. Thanks.

I am also suffering the same problem, I have tried to do a firmware upgrade and updating in rescue mode. All I get is the yellow Upd LED staying on?

Was a solution ever found for this issue?
