Using Brightsign XD for dynamic interactive kiosk

I've been using some Brightsign units for video playback in our museum and had good success with them. We are now looking to branch out and create some interactive kiosks to help deliver different content (video, photo, text, etc). We would like to continue to use the Brightsigns as they integrate well with out systems and have a low cost, but I was wondering if anyone has used them for something beyond the basic kiosk functionality.

I know there is support for HTML5 but in some quick tests I was underwhelmed with the performance which makes me think that perhaps the XD units are not powerful enough to provide a modern kiosk experience that would feature the various forms of content along with swipe based navigation and similar features.

Either way I will continue to use the Brightsigns for video playback but it would be great if they could do this as well. If anyone has tried to accomplish this I would be very appreciative to hear your experience.

    Please read our html tips:

The brightsign browser is based on webkit, you'll get the best performance using webkit transforms.

You'll get better performance not loading massive libraries when you only need a couple functions, because the brightsign unit doesn't have as much memory as the pc.

When using jquery animations, use jquery.transit instead, because they'll have accelerated performance.
