Brightsign HD220 Sync and Commands

Hello,

I am having a lot of trouble with setting up the bright sign players to sync and send commands to turn projectors on and off.

1. My setup

2 Brightsign HD220's Connected to a hub

2 Christie DHD800 Connected to the same hub

2. Sync issues.

I have been having serious issues getting my files to sync. I can get the master to start but the follower will just sit there waiting for commands. When I downloaded the demo sync files everything worked perfectly. I then exchanged the files out and looked at how the session that I created was different from the one that I downloaded. It all looked the same. I was sending out the sync commands to all ports (which should be fine since they are not connected to anything else. It is a local network.) I could get my files to sync but the problem is that I don't know how. It seems to be working but there is no way that I can fix an issue if something goes wrong.

3. Commands to turn the projector on and off.

I have been testing this all morning with just a presentation that is meant to turn the projector on and off. Once I can get the projectors turning on and off on a schedule I can then add that to the sync presentation and have a functioning installation that will turn itself on and off. I put an image into an interactive presentation and add a SEND command using UDP with the command "C00" (which should be the ON command for a Christie DHD800. I have also set up the presentation for UDP to the specific IP address for the projector.

I am trying to troubleshoot this entire setup one stage at a time and seem to be failing at every stage. The manuals and tutorials are not very helpful. If someone from the community can lend some guidance it would really be appreciated!

Thanks!

Did you send your master and slave files that didn't work to support? If not, can you post them here. If sample sync project works fine, then there must have been an issue with settings in yours. Maybe, on the master project, under properties, interactive, you didn't set the unit to broadcast on all local subnets.

What ip address are you sending to under properties, and what port? I don't see how you can use brightauthor to both do sync, and do udp commands to the display. Sync uses udp. If you have the brightsigns set to port 100 for example, there isn't a second setting you can use to set the port to the whatever the monitor is set to.  Does the display support TCP connections? If we can get the protocol for communicating via tcp, a plugin can be written to send the on and off commands.

or, have you tried using the cec commands, to send on and off over HDMI? There are advanced brightcontrol commands, which are cec commands. Some displays support them, not all. There's inconsistent support for cec currently.

Thanks for getting back to me. Is there an address I can send the files to you that is not on a forum? The files that I am using are under a contract.

The display unit is a Christie DHD800. It is capable of receiving TCP connections. I will upload my presentation files to support and see what they can tell me about it.
