Did something change in the last few versions of BrightAuthor in regards to Media RSS feeds updating?
I thought the feed was checked on every pass of the playlist, to see if it was updated or not.
In this case the weather is a single image, by itself in a zone, with a 60 second timeout before returning to itself.
Most of my clients have the weather feed in a zone with other items, and looking at log files, those players seem to check the feed every time it gets to the weather in the playlist to see if it is updated.
I update weather feeds just after the top of the hour. The <ttl> is set to 60 minutes, as the feed is only updated once an hour. With the new client, their players right now are accessing the feed a few minutes before it is updated, and the players do not hit the XML file until the next hour, so the players are always showing 1 hour old weather. I would expect to see the XML file being hit every 60 seconds.
Do I need to change my <ttl> to 5 minutes or 1 minute now to solve this? I'm not sure what version of BA this client is using, or if anything changed in the last few version of BA.
Just trying to understand why these players (XD230 4.7.96 and XD1230 4.7.112) are only updating once an hour.
If anyone from BrightSign has any ideas, please let me know.
