Custom permissions for users - Group of players

Hi,

Using an administrator account on the WebUI, I know I can create and assign custom permission parameters to a selection of users. The store managers setting, based on the publishers settings, will allow selected users to publish on selected group of players. This feature will help me in my case.

Here's my scenario : a national firm with several stores throughout the country will have a national administrator for all the players nationwide. This administrator will create content and publish/schedule it for all these players, leaving some room in the schedule for the local store managers to fill in with local content. Using a store manager permission setting, the local store manager will be able to do that. But, would he be able to modify/delete the schedule created by the nation-wide administrator ? If he is, is there a permission setting to prevent that ?

Thank you for your answer,

    Hi Renaud,

    "Schedule" Operations (under permission) includes:

    -View presentation

    -Create Schedule

    -Update Schedule

    - Add Presentation

    -Remove Presentation

So if you wanted to prevent any of the action listed you would just need to set that up for a specific role.

That said, It is usually better practice to use a Local playlist and only give full control on a dynamic playlist to each store manager. This approach would prevent a store manager from modifying a scheduled item that could impact other stores.
