HD220 Playback: Bad Asset?

Hi-

I'm working on a video wall project involving 3 x HD220 units, all brand new with fully updated firmware - 4.7.151.

I've got everything set up as instructed and I'm finding that I have one video asset that just won't play. It's on a slave unit. When the unit receives its sync instruction, the loading image disappears and a black screen remains (incidentally, the same as the opening frame of the faulty video, so no help there).

The asset is compressed in exactly the same way as the other assets I'm using for this project and they all work fine. The original files were Apple ProRes 422 HQ and they were compressed to H.264 with a maximum data rate of 25 Mbps, no audio, using QuickTime 7. The files are about 4 minutes long.

I've tried the following:

1) Putting the card in a different unit (doesn't play / same behavior)

2) Putting the same asset and presentation on a different card (doesn't play / same behavior)

3) Re-compressing and replacing the asset with a new name (doesn't play / same behavior)

4) Replacing the asset in the BrightAuthor project with a different asset (works fine)

5) Putting the asset into a different, known good, presentation (doesn't play / same behavior)

6) Putting a different, known good, asset into the presentation (works fine)

... any idea what gives?

I'm attaching the current logs from that player. I'm not sure exactly how to read them but it looks like it thinks it played the asset, yet the screen remains black.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

N

    Hello:

Download MediaInfo (mediaarea.net) and use it to open the video file in question and select "View Text", and copy and paste the details about the file, to post here, that will help. BrightSign support will probably ask you to do the same.

There are a couple different things that may be the issue with that one file, the Media Info for that file may help determine what the issue may be.  I am not familiar with Quicktime 7 processing and options, but more information about file might help. There are just too many possible variables as to perhaps why that video file is not playing.
