Hi,
As an AV installer we use BrightSigns on many projects and have recently installed our first HDx22 units, which required an upgrade to BrightAuthor v4.1.0.5 (previously had been using v3.8.0.40 with HDx20)
We have also been working concurrently on some projects that have many HDx20 units, some of which have been exhibiting random reboots recently, having run stably for many months. I have been trying to find an explanation for these reboots and noticed that at some point the BrightAuthor projects in question had been opened and saved with v4.1.0.5 and the players had been updated to firmware v5.1.16 (reported as Minimum Compatible Release in BrightAuthor) as when first published the players reported that the firmware required updating.
I just went on the BrightAuthor downloads page to see if a new version of BA or firmware was available and noticed that the HDx20 units only show v3.8.0.41 and v4.8.114 as compatible - could this be the source of the rebooting problem? I have downgraded BrightAuthor to 3.8.0.41 but it won't open any of the BrightAuthor projects that have been saved in v4.1.0.5 (15 projects in total, some of which are very complicated and would be hours of work to re-create from scratch) and I am very nervous about trying to downgrade the firmware on the HDx20 units from v5.1.16 to v4.8.114 on remote sites.
Would appreciate some help and advice on the above.
Thanks,
Charlie Goodliffe
