Latching a video

hello, I am new to Brightsign and I have a simple project I was wondering how I could pull off using Brightsign.

Basically we have a proximity sensor, I want Brightsign to display a video for as long as the proximity sensor is triggered (GPIO down) and when GPIO goes up for 10sec it reverts back to a loop. So when someone comes close it starts the content but when the person leaves or is undetected for about 10sec it reverts back to to a title loop.

I played around the GPIO part and noticed I could trigger states on continuous press of the GPIO but once the state is triggered the GPIO doesn't stop it when it goes up.

I am pretty sure I got it wrong and I am reading the manual but I still can't figure how to do this. Seems simple enough but maybe it's out of the capabilities of Brightsign.

(sorry for my english as it is not my main language)

Thanks for the help

regards

I had another customer with a similar question.

This project has an attract video. When gpio 1 goes down it plays a video 1.mov.  In the background zone, when gpio 1 goes up a 10 second timer is started. If it reaches 10, it sends an attract message which changes from 1.mov back to the attract video.

If gpio1 goes down again, no message is sent.

Marvelous, that is exactly what I needed!

And it's a very clever trick you used there, it does open the door for a bunch of possibilities regarding interactivity. Thank you very much for the shared knowledge.

Do you have any Brightsign approved PIRs?
