RSS Feeds and Timing

Hello!

We are a school and have monitors located at various places throughout our building. We've created an RSS feed of daily announcements that we'd like to run throughout the day. Each day, the number of announcements in the feed changes, so the length of time it takes to go through the feed is never the same. Once the feed reaches the end, I'd like presentation to switch to another state that includes the names of anyone visiting the school that day - also an RSS feed. Then of course, the whole presentation should loop. All states will have a background image.

I've tried an interactive presentation with Live Text, but if the RSS item is too long for the Live Text box, it gets cut off and does not continue on to a second screen (like it would if I was to use a ticker zone). For some reason, if I set the text size to "automatic," (thinking the text size would adjust depending on the length of the announcement) no text shows up in the Live Text box.

Can anyone provide advice on a different way to accomplish what I've described, or are there settings I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!

If the amount of time it takes to cycle through all the entries in the Data Feed is longer than the Update Interval, the presentation will never display all items in the feed. Make sure to specify an Update Interval that is long enough to display the entire feed. Update interval for the feed can be set on the File > Presentation Properties > Data Feeds tab.

If you use the Media RSS states to show the feeds, you can connect the MRSS states together via the Media End events. The playback will advance to the next feed when the first feed reaches the end, and so on.
