BrightSign players with Web Folder/SFN not updating

We are setting up a large deployment of XD1035 players (50+) in a museum environment, and we are developing all the media for these players. As such we have to upload iterations and rapidly change content from a web folder. After a while the players seem to stop wanting to take updates from the web folder. I've tried factory reset, wiping the SD card, and reprovisioning the players in various combinations when this happens, but the only thing that seems to work is creating an entirely new setup file from scratch, which is not a long term solution. The players are running BrightSign OS 9.0.120 and BA:Connected is the latest version. They're set up to look at the web folder every minute for updates, and the server is running on a NUC-type device with Microsoft IIS.

    Make sure that your current-sync file has the correct url.

    I have triple-checked the URLs both in the setup file, and in BrightAuthor on the schedule tab and the current-sync file.

    If you have access to web server logs you could find out if players stop checking or is there other reason for failure.

    In this case it did turn out to be a typo in the url, but it has happened in the past. If and when it happens again I'll update this thread.
