Sending userVariable via "Send serial string (no EOL)

With BA connected and a XT1144 (firmware 8.5.47) I can not send the content of an userVariable via serial send commend (no EOL). The output is $$midi2$$ and not the content of the variable (in my case 48). By the way there should be no EOL on the output but the output is in hex: 24 24 6D 69 64 69 32 24 24 0D

The 0D should not be there.

I get exactely the same output with the send serial string (EOL) command.

    Hi Timo,

    In BA Connected user variables' values are accessed differently from how it in in BA Classic.

    Try {{midi2}}
