MRSS - example template and possibility

Hi , I am totally new to BS and have been tasked to get a MRSS feed running on a few players. 

Lets says I have an MRSS with some content and a feature image. Its an events feed, so each item is an event with a headline, date and image. I want to loop over each item as its own poster.

How do I design the template that renders each item in the feed.  ie is it a web page, or a template  

I have read the docs on Displaying HTML with MRSS Feeds - Documentation - BrightSign Documentation (atlassian.net) but its not very helpful 

Basically I want to have my own themed template (however that's built ) that plays the MRSS feed.  I am not sure where to start !
