impossible to dipslay any website usign standalone > HTML widget > URL

Hi 
I am trying to display a simple static webpage. We have bought several HD225 players for our gallery all of which should do the same thing. I successfully set up the player to a standalone mode, and it was connected to the internet over Ethernet. I than published a basic presentation just displaying two png images on a loop which worked. I proceeded with asking it to display google.com website but no luck. It did upload the presentation since the background changed though. I have seleected ethernet as prior connection mode, without changing anything in ethernet network setup (didnt fill any hostname nor proxy). Inputting other URL websites didnt do anything either. 
I selected the html5 widget and set it to loop forever. it is the only element in the presentation! 
can you please assist me?
