Hi,
for a new deployment i am currently looking for network switches. 6 Players shall be frame synced, another 5 being in the network for easier content distribution. Due to the placement of the players in the Building and the limited amount of installed cables the Network has to be structured with switches, resulting in a difference between 1 and 3 hops between synced players. The core switch is unfortunately not deployed by us.
I am affraid that EEE on most lowcost switches could influence the sync Signal. But from the informations i gathered the IEEE 802.3az should only limit the port if the device agreed with a handshake.
My question ar:
- How is the brightsign OS implenting the EEE Negotation ?
- In terms of a framesynced playback, up to what number of network hops can i work without problems ?
- If i am remembering it right the "new" Framesync is handled by a Multicast Group. Can someone share real life experience in a mixed network environment.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts
best clemens
