Basic player for videowalls

Hi all!
We're a rental company and we need to buy some new players to associate with our ledwalls (to play pixel to pixel videos).
Having a look at the Series-5-Product-Selector PDF, it seems like the LS445 might be the right choice:

  • single 2K/4K playback
  • USB for files or keyboard (for basic interaction: go from state A to state B)
  • UDP basic interaction

Am I missing something?
What's the biggest drawback for this model?

    A few things:

    1. All graphics for this player will need to be created at HD resolution and the device will scale up to 3840x2160.

    2. It only supports 10/100 networking.  It is not a Gigabit ethernet LAN.

    3. It does not have a USB-A port.  Only a single USB-C port.  Most keyboards and mice are USB-A.  Also, USB sticks are also USB-A.

    Damn, the 10/100Mbps NIC is a shame and most likely the only thing that will stop me from buying them.

    The graphic should be limited to 1080 only in the graphic layer, if used in the video layer they can be 4k.

    About the USB-C I was already planning to use the adapter.

    I may have to go with the HD1025 or XD1035 :(

    If you don't need full interactivity on each player, you could go with the XD235.  They still work with the UDP and have Gigabit ethernet.  They have microSD cards for files and a Phoenix connector that can operate with buttons.

    Andrea,

    The biggest two differences is the processor is stronger/faster in the XD series vs the HD/LS series players and the capacity for 4K video and graphics. If your video wall is going to be 1080p screens then I would stick with the HD.  If you are running them at 4K - or want to future proof your installations - then I would say go with the XD series.  From our experience, the XD players just seem to sync faster and there is less "lag".  This will also depend on your network setup.  They sync best on hardwire LAN, CAT6 or better.  Be sure to have a gigabit switch too.  Also be certain to get good quality microSD cards.  We find the SanDisk Industrial series to be durable.
