XT1145 issue on 4K vertical setup

Hi

I have a standalone setup, with no network connection, only SD-card presentation.

My presentation is set to a vertical setup in 4K, but when I test it, the touch won't register. Though if I set it to HD instead verything works as I should (just in a bad resolution).

The player is said to be able to run 4K. I have been in contact with BrightSign for a month and they still haven't returned with a solution. Does anyone have the same problem?

    Hello,

Check BrightSign’s Firmware: Ensure that the BrightSign player is running the latest firmware. Sometimes touch issues are resolved in firmware updates, especially for high-resolution displays.

Touch Overlay Calibration: Depending on the touch technology (IR, capacitive, etc.), the touch overlay may need recalibration for 4K, especially in portrait orientation. Check if the overlay supports 4K resolution natively and if calibration tools are available for the specific resolution and orientation.

HDMI Settings: Some touch screens are sensitive to the HDMI signal format and resolution. Go into the player’s settings to ensure the HDMI output is properly set for 4K at the correct refresh rate (e.g., 30Hz or 60Hz).

Aspect Ratio and Scaling: Ensure that your 4K content is properly scaled for a vertical display. Some issues arise when the aspect ratio doesn’t match, causing conflicts with how the touch coordinates are interpreted.

Brightness and Power Consumption: 4K displays tend to consume more power, and some players might struggle to drive both the display and the touch overlay at 4K, especially if there’s a lot of media or interactivity. Try simplifying the content and see if that improves touch response.

SD Card Speed: If your setup is SD-card-based, check the read/write speed of the card. High-resolution presentations (4K) can require fast storage to handle the data throughput. Ensure that the SD card meets the recommended specifications for 4K content.

Test with Another Display: If possible, test the same presentation with a different 4K touch display to isolate whether the issue lies with the player or the display.
I hope this info helps you.
    Best Regards
