Publish a Smartsheet Dashboard to XD4055

I'm trying to show a SmartSheet dashboard from an XD4055 by pointing the XD4055 to a URL generated from the smart sheet "Publish" option. This is a sharable "read only link" that should not require sign in to view.

I've used an interactive playlist with an HTML5 widget.  This gets me to the SmartSheet site, however I get an error back from smartsheet, saying the network is taking to long to load.  Speed Tests show over 900Mbps, i don't think it's a network issue.

Has anyone published a dashboard from SmartSheets to view on a BrightSign display?

    Hello,

Yes, there have been successful instances of publishing SmartSheets dashboards to BrightSign displays. Here's a breakdown of common approaches and troubleshooting tips:

    1. Publish with the Correct Settings

"Read Only - HTML" is often recommended: This option provides a lightweight and usually faster-loading view compared to "Read Only - Full."
Ensure "Anyone" access: Confirm that your published link is accessible to anyone with the URL, not just specific users or those within your organization.
    2. Optimize the Dashboard

    Minimize complexity:
Reduce the number of sheets, reports, and widgets within the dashboard.
Simplify visualizations (e.g., use simpler charts or fewer data points).
Consider data aggregation: If possible, summarize data to reduce the amount of information loaded.
    3. Test Thoroughly

Test on the target network: Evaluate loading times on the same network where the XD4055 will be located. Network conditions can significantly impact performance.
Use browser developer tools: Inspect the network traffic and identify any slow-loading resources within the SmartSheet dashboard.
    4. BrightSign Player Configuration

Update player software: Ensure your XD4055 has the latest firmware and software updates installed.
Optimize HTML5 widget settings: Adjust settings within the HTML5 widget (if applicable) to improve performance, such as caching options.
    5. Troubleshooting the "Network Taking Too Long" Error

Check Smartsheet server status: Verify there are no known outages or performance issues with Smartsheet's servers.
