According to the documentation the XT1145 can output uncompressed 7.1 audio over HDMI passthrough. So I have an 8 channel .wav file going out over HDMI and into the Gefen HDMI to HDMI plus decoder, and I am only getting sound out on the first two channels. I have the project setup as passthrough fixed audio and I've tried it with and without the Multichannel plugin/script, always only getting audio out of the Gefen on the first two channels.

Hello,
you're getting only stereo audio from your 8-channel .wav file played through a BrightSign XT1145 (set to HDMI passthrough) into a Gefen decoder. The issue likely lies in the Gefen decoder's audio output configuration, which might be set to stereo or not correctly configured for 7.1 input. Double-check the Gefen's manual and settings for audio output mode and channel configuration. Also, verify your source .wav file is truly 8 channels and that the BrightSign's EDID communication with the Gefen is correct. The Multichannel plugin might not be necessary for uncompressed PCM and could be a point of conflict. -
