Not powering over some PoE

Has anyone experienced this?

My XT1144 gets powered over PoE. It works fine from two of my PoE switches (one is just a unmanaged 4 port one, while the other is a 24 port managed one). However, when using a PoE injector, or a new PoE switch I've just bought (8 port one), it takes a while before powering up. In fact, I even unplugged the HDMI lead and it fired up straight away.

As far as I know, all power sources are PoE, not PoE+. And it can be the only thing on the switch. Oh, and yes, I've tried different sockets on the switches and different patch cables (both CAT5e and CAT6).

I have another device, which is PoE powered, which works fine off the same switch or injector.

OK, I should get myself a power supply for it. But it's no biggie, as it's not in a production enviornment and is only used by me for testing or programming.

XT1144 will run on POE but I think it only runs all CPUs if on POE+.  Also we have seen where, if the player is connected via external power supply but gets POE on boot...player will default to the POE.  We have deployed a ton of these and we always have to be careful to verify our customer doesn't have POE enabled on that port...or has POE+ if so.

Just checked the specs of both my Netgear switches - they both supply PoE, not PoE+. Yet the player behaves differently when plugged into each of them. The injector is certainly a PoE too. I've got a PoE+ injector...might try that, see what occurs.

Good shout on the PSU - I haven't got a PSU for this, but I'll look out for those sort of problems at clients' sites. I know of a couple of sites where there have had XT1144 with PSU installed.
