Help with a new HD223

We purchased an HD223 Bright sign. I am trying to set it up and completely lost. The yellow paper included in the box says to hook up a USB keyboard for setup. There is no USB port on the device. On the screen, it says to go to the IP address and when I go there it is asking for a User/Pass that I have no idea what it is. I have looked in the support area and don't see any way to set up this device. Any help would be appreciated.

You would need to download and install BrightAuthor which provides a way to configure new players.  During configuration of a player you can set the diagnostic web server username and password to whatever you wish it to be.

    Download BrightAuthor - https://www.brightsign.biz/digital-signage-products/brightauthor

You can build the player to run:

    1.  Standalone (USB stick updates - won't help in your case).

    http://docs.brightsign.biz/display/DOC/Standalone+Setup

    2.  Networked with Local File Networking (Updated directly from BrighhtAuthor).

    http://docs.brightsign.biz/display/DOC/Local+File+Network+Setup

    3.  Networked with Simple File Networking (updated from a URL that points to your content).

    https://brightsign.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/218066047-How-to-Simple-File-Networking-setup

    4.  Networked with BrightSign Networking (need a BrightSign account).

I don't run players in these modes as we operate our own BrightSign Network but just to help you along I have created a config with content so you can try it out.  I tried the setup on my HD1023 and it worked.

This is done assuming your network will use DHCP (assign the player an IP automatically) and that you will connect to it and update it using BrightAuthor.  The DWS page on the player is set for UN: admin and PW: admin.

The link to the config files is below.  It is a moderately large zip file.  Unzip this to the root of your micro-SD card, install it in the player, and power up.  Please don't call the phone number shown on the screen.  We are not associated with BrightSign...other than we use their very good signage products.  I will leave the link active for a few days.

If you don't have an sd ard in the unit when you log into the ip address, it won't show you the setup page. It needs an sd card to actually do the on unit setup.
