Hi, can We install brightauthor on more than 1 pc and link it to the bright signs?
I am having problems with connecting to an IP address and even if I type the IP address into the web browser it can not be discovered.
One computer says that the IP cant be reached and the other says this unit is already set up-even comes with the Model number, I just can't publish anything.
Yes, you can use multiple computers to access the players on a local network.
You indicated one comptuer says it's already been added, but you can't publish? This can happen if you setup the unit for standalone use only. That means you can see the unit listed under manage, local networking, but you can't publish to it. So, you just get a status view. You'd need to redo the setup and choose local file networking.
On the other computer, if the computers aren't on the same subnet/vlan but routing between the subnets/vlans is restricted, then you wouldn't be able to add the unit to your other computer.
You can tell if a unit's properly setup for local networking if you can reach these urls from the browser:
http://playeripaddress:8080/GetID
http://playeripaddress:8080/GetAutorun
http://playeripaddress:8080/GetCurrentStatus
IF you can reach from a browser, but not BA, usually means some software is blocking ba.
