Brightauthor extremely slow

I have a 1 hour long 4K HVEC file of 28 GB.

It runs fine on the player, but when publishing Brightauthor takes 15min saying preparing to copy files.

This is a horrible problem and some shitty software. Small changes to my presentation and i have to wait 15min. Because when its finished i can press skip replacing file. Because the videofile has not changed.

Is there not a workaround on this stupid topic??

In the past I found that using Data Feed saves the wasted time that you are describing.

You could copy the large file to the SD card, and create an MRSS XML file that is stored locally.

Normally a data feed url would be http://... but in the case of a local file, the url would be file://mysingleitemfeed.xml, and the reference to the video in the XML would be something like file://myverylongvideo.mov

Best to experiment first with a small file, and once it works, swap with the large file.

With such workflow, the publishing process is instant.

The first time that the presentation runs, I would expect a significant delay, before the video starts to play, as it would be copied internally.

Once the files is copied, the next time you publish, the file should run immediately

Coding in brightscript could be another solution, but that would depend on your coding level
