Changing players without having to recreate the presentation.

Does anyone know if you can change the player model without having to create a new presentation?

I have a client that wants to run the same presentation but on different models.

Some of my customers have built to a high end model then tried to run the presentation on a lower model.  It didn't barf right away but eventually it barfed.

However, I have built several presentations to the HD1023 model and I am still running those presentations on the XD1033 and XD1134.  I think BrightSign frowns on any form of that but build to the lower model and it usually runs on the higher model.

IN most cases it doesn't matter what model the project is built for. The model you choose controls what features you see. You only run into problems when you try to use features the players don't have. So, if you tried to play video from the hdmi input on a player that doesn't have it, you might get a crash.

There are some exceptions to this.

Series 210/1010 players can't play projects from newer models.

And, if you're using the cloud and build a project using the webui, you also can't play something targeted at an older model like a 210 or 220, or a newer player because the webui uses older autorun versions for older models, and when those older autoruns do a compatibility check, they only know about the models that existed when that older autourn was released. SO, again there, you can use projects targeting newer models on older players except the 210/1010.
