what format should the SD card be for a LS423?

i just got my LS423 BS unit and i didnt get an SD card when i ordered it (D'OH)

i just ran down the street to walgreens and bought an SD card........ i tossed an image on the root of the SD card - and the screen reads "BRIGHT SIGN - Please Insert Memory Card" - running version v6.2.1473 

please advise.

    Format FAT32 and dont buy cheap SD cards.
