How to set up a Touchscreen that controls a Video Wall

What is the best setup for having 1 Interactive Brightsign / touchscreen control a Video wall that plays a synchronized video with audio (3 monitors / Brightsigns)?

Can a BrightWall presentation be controlled by a non-Brightwall (interactive) presentation?

Can they all be connected by ethernet via a data switch (without needing to be connected to a network)?

Where player would handle audio?

Thanks!

    John,

I've done several projects like this in the past, and usually the best way is to have BrightSign players running the video wall, but control them via UDP commands from a node.js server.

This server can also provide a webpage that forms the touchscreen control, typically running on an iPad (although it can be anything web-based).

Advanced versions of this use WebSockets to provide real-time updated of the touchscreen control surface.

All this works with local networking only, no internet access required. However, you may want to consider adding some remote desktop capabilities so you can debug/test/reset the system remotely.

Audio can come from any one of the BS players, or from a 4th (networked) player running separately - useful if the sound control is a long way from the main screen.

Realise this isn't a complete solution, but should point you in the right direction. If you're based in the UK, maybe I can help a bit more.

    Nick
