Use variable to set volume in BA connected?

The use of $$variable$$ is not possible i.e. in set volume commands in BA connected. Only numbers seem valid in the field. So how to set volume to a user variable?

    I've found in BA:connected, variables have changed from $$variable$$ to {{variable}}
