Scheduling Issue

I'm suddenly having scheduling issues with simple Standalone (player storage) presentations I'm deploying on BrightSign players. Basically the presentations are not following the scheduling that I've indicated as they're not running when they should be (although ran for a short time when within the scheduled period), and I've checked to be sure that the time zones are corrent. It's happening on different models including new HD1025's and new XT1145's with different simple presentations on each.

This is the first time I've encountered this type of issue and it's just come up very recently. I'm running BrightAuthor:connected 1.59.0.

Is anyone else encountering this currently and/or does anyone have suggestions or info on what may be happening?

Thanks for the thorough response. Quite a few possibilities of what may be causing the issue as you've outlined here.

I had tried most of these suggestions and had narrowed it down to it most likely being a time sync and/or recent software bug. What has resolved it for me is having a network cable plugged into the Bright Sign's while loading the microSD card presentations onto them - once I did that then it appeared that their internal clocks/syncing was accurate with what they pulled from the network for that as their schedules ran when they should (even after being disconnected from the network).
This didn't seem necessary to do before with connecting them to the network for setting them up for "Stand-alone" on these devices but appears to be needed at this time for me to get the scheduling to work as intended. There could be other reasons for this too that you've outlined.

The comprehensive response seems to be spam wrapped in AI generated response :)

The solution you found makes sense. You should be aware that over time the clock might lose its accuracy if left offline. Should a player be without power, it might completely lose the date and time. When it comes to scheduling, having access to the internet or a local time server has its advantages.

Ah yes, that checks out :)

That is a concern I have. Where these players are being installed they shouldn't be without power for any period of time; however, that possibility of them losing the date and time is a concern. My preference is generally to set them up on BSN.Cloud for remote management, or connected to a local network at minimum, but the Standalone setup was preferred by the client in this case. I can see the advantages of them being connected to the internet or a local time server for scheduling.

Clients could use education at times...

A gentle mentioning of the term "Risk" might do the trick :)
