Network player not displayed

I have configured a new XT245 and the display is showing it has been set up successfully in Local Network Mode. The device has latest OS version 9.0.189 and a fixed IP address.

When I start up BrightAuthor Connected (previously I always used BrightAuthor but that software seems legacy) I add the network player under Schedule and Network Players. I do not get any error message but the network player is not shown in the list of Networked Players. If I try to add it again I get a message "This BrightSign is already in the list of BrightSign Players" but.... it is not shown in the list.

I reimaged my laptop, installed BrightAuthor Connected software again and did the same exercise with exactly the same results. The player seems not refused and just recognized but once added ..... it is not shown in the list of players? I did not connect to BSN.Cloud because I just want to use the software locally.

No idea how to resolve this issue.

I've not had a problem with communicating with XT245s through either brightauthor or ba:connected.

Did you configure the XT245 with brightauthor or BA:connected? I've found the don't like talking to a brightsign configured with the other software. Also while you are looking at this, did you set the BA:Connected publishing mode from default of "stand alone" to "local network"?

If you leave the SD card unplugged and power up the brightsign, it should display its IP address on the screen. This will rule out setting up the wrong IP address on the brightsign.

I'm assuming the laptop and brightsign are in the same IP range and subnet.

Can you access the local web server by typing the IP address of the brightsign into a web browser on the laptop? This will confirm the brightsign is reachable from your laptop.

Do you have bonjour installed or relying on telling ba:connected the IP address when publishing:

Problem resolved. I first had to create a Presentation, then put in schedule and afterwards the BrightSign network device could be selected.
