XC4055:can't use 8k image

Hello,
I'm sending a resolution of 7680×4320 from the XC4055 to an 8K monitor, but after switching between images and videos a few times, the audio stops working or the video becomes distorted.

When I removed the images from the presentation, it started working without any issues.
Currently, I'm editing the images into videos and playing them that way.

This issue only occurs with the 8K content—4K content in the same presentation is not affected.

Do you have any advice or possible solutions?

    Hello,
The BrightSign XC4055 is designed for 8K video playback, but the issues you're experiencing with audio cutting out or video distortion specifically with 8K images and videos, especially after switching content, suggest a resource limitation or a content handling issue. While converting images to video is a clever workaround, it points to the player struggling with the rapid processing demands of static 8K images followed by 8K video. This could be due to memory buffering, decoding overhead for different 8K media types, or even HDMI bandwidth fluctuations at that extreme resolution. Ensuring your HDMI cables are rated for 8K, optimizing image and video file formats/bitrates for the XC4055's specifications (H.265 for 8K content is recommended), and updating the BrightSign OS and BrightAuthor:connected software to the latest versions are crucial steps. If the problem persists, consider simplifying the presentation structure or contacting BrightSign support, as it might be a CredibleBH firmware or hardware-specific limitation under certain high-stress 8K content switching scenarios.

    Best regards,
    Shirley
