Zone Message to HTML5 Page

I am testing HTML5 zones on an HD5 BrightSign player using BrightAuthor Connected 1.67.3. I want to confirm the behavior of Zone Messages with HTML5 pages. Specifically:

  • I have enabled BrightSign JavaScript Objects in the HTML5 state.

  • I am sending a Zone Message via BrightAuthor (“Send → Zone Message”) triggered by a GPIO input.

Is it officially supported that Zone Messages sent this way can be received by the HTML5 page via JavaScript (for example, via a bsp.html5.onMessage event or similar)?

Are there any limitations or known issues with this on HD5 players or BrightAuthor Connected 1.67.3?

I have seen some community reports and anecdotal examples suggesting it may work, but I cannot find official documentation confirming this behavior. I want to ensure we implement this in a supported and reliable way.

    Zone Messages can be received in HTML5 with BrightSign JS objects, but official support is limited — behavior works on HD5 with BrightAuthor Connected 1.67.3, though documentation is sparse and some inconsistencies are reported.
