Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a small side project related to testing and prototyping HTML5-based content before deploying it to BrightSign players, and I wanted to get some input from the community.
In some cases, I’ve experimented with using virtual Android environments (such as apps like Snapchat Mod APK) to simulate different device behaviors and quickly test web-based content, UI layouts, and interaction flows. The idea is to have a flexible testing layer before pushing content to actual BrightSign hardware.
I’m aware that BrightSign players have their own optimized rendering environment and workflow (especially when using BrightAuthor:connected or local network publishing), so this approach is obviously not a replacement—more of a quick prototyping step.
My questions are:
- Has anyone here used virtual environments or emulators as part of their workflow before deploying to BrightSign?
- How reliable do you find cross-environment testing when moving from mobile/web previews to actual BrightSign players?
- Are there better tools or recommended approaches for testing HTML5 content closer to the BrightSign runtime?
I’m particularly interested in improving iteration speed during early design/testing phases without constantly publishing to hardware.
Appreciate any insights or workflow suggestions you might have!
Thanks
