Recreating BA Project File

One of our clients wants to update the content on his Brightsign, but does not have the original BrightAuthor project file.

So, I'm dug around on the SD card and found, what looks like, a copy of the project file. However, it isn't - it's a published file. Looks similar to the project file, but BA won't load it, even if I change the initial line from 'published' to 'project'. I've been through the rest of the file and it looks identical to a project file (OK, I don't have the original file, so had to compare to another project).

Therefore, has anyone managed to convert a published file back to a project file?

This is for BrightAuthor Classic (I think it's now known as - I don't use it, as I create projects in BrightScript - much easier).

A-ha...when a project is published, not only is this file created from the original bpf file, but this original bpf file is also copied into the project. The published version of the file has a xml extension, while the project version of the file has a bml extension...all hidden in the pool folder, and renamed (details in the filesToPublish.xml and local-sync.xml files).
