I'm looking for guidance on the best BrightSign-native approach for a digital signage deployment that uses XT2145 and LS445 devices and has a very simple content management requirement.
Our presentations include multiple zones and are managed using BrightAuthor:connected and bsn.Content. The current deployment works very well from a display and layout perspective.
Our challenge is not playback or screen layout. It's content management. We are a nonprofit community based organization with non-technical staff. One of the zones in our Presentation is currently being used to display a rotating slideshow of images to inform community members about upcoming programs and events.
Our ideal workflow would be:
- Staff add JPG files to a folder.
- Staff delete JPG files when they are no longer needed.
- The slideshow automatically reflects those additions and deletions.
- No one needs to open BrightAuthor, edit playlists, or manually republish presentations.
We have evaluated a couple of third-party CMS options, but none were able to preserve the XT2145's multi-output configuration. Because of this, we would strongly prefer to remain within the BrightSign ecosystem and keep the existing XT2145 presentation architecture.
Is there a BrightSign-native solution you would recommend for this use case?
Specifically:
- Is there a supported way to have a slideshow automatically reflect the contents of a folder without manually maintaining a playlist?
- Is there a recommended workflow for integrating a shared folder locations such as a SharePoint document library, OneDrive folder, or even a web folder with a BrightSign presentation?
Our goal is to keep the existing BrightSign devices and while making image updates as simple as possible for non-technical users.
Any guidance, best practices, or examples would be greatly appreciated!
