Update content from SD Card where player was previously updated over BSNEE

Hi There,

We have a potential challenge where players going out in the field may have incorrect SSID details. These players are setup to be updated over BSNEE.

I'm trying to look into potential solutions if this happens. I wanted to know if it's possible to have a SD Card that has been setup on a player locally and a presentation added and use this to update the player out in the field.

Is that possible?

Thanks

I am 99% sure the SSID is in the current-sync.xml on the root of the SD card.  It would be hashed.  So create a new player config with the correct SSID, open the new current-sync.xml file and copy the hashed SSID.  Paste it into the original current-sync.xml file for each player.  This isn't what you asked but it is one way to do it.  A laptop, sd card reader, and text editor at each player location.  But it covers the mechanics of what will need to happen with whatever method you come up with.

    Thanks Allen that's super helpful.

Another scenario is that the player out in the field can't connect to any network.

Can we update the pres with a new SD Card?

    Thanks

So we are a BrightAuthor classic shop.  I don’t know as much about the BA Connected environment.  With that said…you can create a new player configuration and publish your presentation all in one package.  We have done this.  Put that on a new FAT32 SD card and send that presentation/config package/SD to each misconfigured player.  Done.

    Supported methods would be

and to get the files there, write directly to the storage, or use one of the methods from

assuming some connectivity can be established.
