Is it possible to permanently send the timecode of a video sequence via UDP?

Jens Weber I have tried as a first step when playing a video, at a certain timecode (video timecode event) via udp to send a signal out. but unfortunately, nothing comes. The settings for udp are I think correct, is something wrong in BrightAuthor Layout, I test with the preview window?

Brandon You need to publish the presentation to an actual player. The BrightAuthor preview is not a full or accurate representation of what the player's output and behavior will be.

Jens Weber Ok, I understand. I'm a bit surprised since the preview works fine with touch inputs. Where is the difference in principle?

Brandon The BrightAuthor preview is just a software approximation in Windows. It's not an emulator or virtual machine, so it's far from a perfect simulation.
Sending timecode via UDP permanently would require a custom autorun. You should also be careful about frequency as not to flood the network or bog down the player's processing.

Jens Weber Thanks for the feedback, can I make this adjustment " ... require a custom autorun … " myself in BrightAuthor or would you need to adjust this from your end?

It would require great understanding of the BrightAuthor autorun and the BrightScript language. I recommend engaging with a Content Partner to determine the best solution for your needs. In general a plugin would be version-agnostic and less work than modifying the BrightAuthor autorun as it is not documented or meant to be modified in this manner.
