Im new to bright sign and networking. I have a tx4 unit. On power up I get no screen. no purple screen no white screen for firmware update. nothing, black screen. screen says no HDMI signal. tried 2 different screens same result. happens with or with out the network connected. Any ideas how i get past step one.

Bright Scripters The first thing to try is as follows:
Remove microSD card
Connect to HDMI display
Connect to power
After about 1min, the display should show the BrighSign prompt with player serial number and firmware version

you re good. Yes i removed sd and i got a start screen. I put he card back in and it went back to black screen. took the chance to update from 8.2.55.5 to 8.4.14 (latest). Is now showing a start up screen with the sd card in. I get a screen telling me the player is set up. but still no activation code only software version. units ip address and a serial number. device still not appearing in BA connect. try and add it i am asked for activation code, which i dont have yet.
any guesses now?

ben howell done the videos. they assume that the device is appearing the BA connect dashboard. Which it isn't. I found the video full of jargon and after video number 3 they are talking gibberish, nothing but jargon.
