Series 3 Encoding capabilities

Hi,

The new series 3 players are advertised to be able to encode/decode video streams. How are these features enabled?

I looked for it in BrightAuthor and in the BrightAuthor manual (4.6) and didn't find anything.

I would like to use a XT1143 player with HDMI input as an encoder/server to stream on a network and decode the stream using a HD223 player.

Thank you very much for your help,

Regards,

Renaud Mogenot.

Here's a link to a sample project, plugin, and some screenshots.

With this plugin, the server can't play live video when it's also streaming it. The plugin will start serving the hdmi input on power up if it's attached to any published presentation. The readme includes the url you'd use on the client.

    Hello,

I tried the plugin and it does work quite well. Although there are some scaling issues to be aware of. Thank you.

As the feature is advertised on the specification sheets of the Series 3 players, is it a feature that will be implemented into BrightAuthor or will it remain a script that needs to be altered "by-hand" in order to change the settings?

    Thank you for your feedback,

Streaming server functionality will get rolled into brightauthor. eventually. We also have a standalone verson with plugin that you publish, and then you can configure using a custom device page on the unit. So, you log into the unit, and then choose streaming specs, format, which video to stream. That's in testing currently.
