I posted this to this older thread, but have not gotten any responses, possibly because it is such an old thread, so I am posting as a new thread.
There seems to be much confusion on the Interactive Capabilities of BrightWall.
In the video that John Vargo linked, it says this is possible to do interactive content with BrightWall. And Jeff Hastings (BrightSign CEO) says in that video that you can do this.
But then Alex Karbuiuk (BrightSign Support?) says that you can NOT do this.
Why did Jeff Hastings say you can do this back in 2014, if you still can not do this?
I have been trying to find a good basic example of how do to this, compared to the old way of sending a UDP word from the Master with the Slaves listening.
I need to be able to use a USB Keypad to trigger different video loops on a BrightWall/Multi Screen setup. But there seems to be no Interactive options in the BrightWall setup in BrightAuthor.
I have tried doing the Master/Slave UDP word approach with the current version of BrightAuthor (v4.4.0.15) and that does not seem to work anymore like I have done with older versions. Fortunately the recent project I needed to sync multiple screens was just a simple loop, and BrightWall worked fine for that.
I am going to need to have interactive control of a multi-screen setup in the future, but there currently seems to be no way to do this.
Also many of the tutorials here at BrightSign have outdated information for older versions of BrightAuthor. It looks like some of that is in progress, but there is much confusing information, broken/missing links, etc.
To BrightSign Support, can we please get a good example tutorial of how to do interactive triggering, as Jeff Hastings says is possible using BrightWall?
Thank you.
