Bright Author for Mac OS X - please!

To whom it may concern,

I don´t know how many customers have to ask for a Bright Author for mac until it actually happens. So here is another request. I work for a company based in Berlin Germany who do very important art shows like documenta, Venice biennale and many more and in the art scene we are the biggest company in the world for media technic. We operate international. We used different kind of players in the past such as Adtec or Eyezone or just mac minis. Since a few years we buy more and more Bright Sign players and not only rent them but also sell them to customers. Meanwhile we own 378 BrightSign players and they are rapidly getting more. Our whole company works only on Mac only and we want to keep it that way since mac is quite common in the whole art world. Of course we use scripts for single channel installations and also for multi channel. But there are a lot of works were we have to use Bright Author. For triggering players with sensors or schedule players for example. It´s really a pain to boot in Windows or use a virtual machine. I don´t know if you are aware of it but many thousand of people all around the globe use bright sign and the only reason they are forced to use windows is BA. Especially in film / video art which is also one of your target groups, right? Also most people in museums all around the world use mac. I know it cause I have been to countless places to build up media tech. Quicktime Prores for example is one of the most used codecs in film industry and it´s form apple. So please if you have possibility to provide a BA for mac you should do it.

Thanks for understanding and for you amazing hardware,

Ben Brix,

Welcome to the BrightAuthor for Mac club Ben! :)

I'm not seeing that coming from BrightSign. Maybe some could start a Kickstarter project or something like that...

Hopefully I'm wrong, and BrightSign are looking into a multi platform tool, like an Eclipse plugin, or something like that.

I think that Roku has an Eclipse based tool...

    Hi Yoram,

I think they are not aware how many customers are using mac. If there was an good alternative for Bright Sign for mac we would surely turn away from them and they would loose some money. Sometimes you have to invest some cash to earn more. Someone programming BA for mac would surely e a good investment. Hope they understand this soon.

Wow Ruch player are really cheap. Do they support sync? How is the loop? Are there drop frames or black?

    Hi Benjamin,

We use BrightSign for video wall applications, and very pleased with their sync.

We have not seen any dropped frames.

Setting up syncronized playback is very easy with their BrightWall feature.

We also use Macs, and run Windows in VMware Fusion, which is a little inconvenient, but not the end of the world.

Oh yeah I know bright sign is great. Was asking about the Ruko Player. But I think they are not so interesting. We also work with VM to use BA but on sight it´s a bit annoying cause I don´t want to waste hard disk space of my macbook on windows and since i really don´t need it for anything else then BA it would be good to have a proper mac solution.

The only reason that I have parallels on my Mac is to run BrightAuthor.

Regarding the Ruch player, the speaker comments on its affordability, expressing curiosity about its features. They inquire about its support for synchronization, the quality of its looping functionality, and whether it experiences issues such as dropped frames or black screens. These questions suggest a desire for more information to make an informed decision about the Ruch player's suitability for their needs And for transaction i want to recommends you Apply GCash Card
