I know this topic has come up before but I am having trouble after searching for a few days. I want to use a transparent PNG for a top layer logo/branding. With a looping video underneath. I can get the layers(zones) in the correct locations ontop one another. The problem I am having is the PNG ive created with a transparent background always shows up in bright author with a black background. I know Im missing something, has anyone else had this problem?

Allen H. Porter Here is another example. The entire thing isn't transparent...we have a frame on the right.

Brandon Can you take a picture of what it looks like when published to the player?

Kyle Conner Hmmm, neither work for me, Ive got a simple presentation. 2 zones one video(tried both videoandimages and video only) and one images. I feel like there is a check box I cant find because even when the image zone is completely empty there it is still filled with black. Same with my transparent images and yours, the transparent sections always get filled with black. Thanks in advance for your help.
On the off chance that the preview in BrightAuthor doesnt work with transparent images, please tell me im an idiot. And I will have to get back to you, right now I dont have the play with me.

Brandon Are you publishing the presentation to the player, or just using the BrightAuthor preview? The BrightAuthor preview is not an accurate representation of the player output.

Allen H. Porter I don't have it running on anything here in the office. Besides, we have it running over a background mp4. But I have linked two jpg screenshots from the players running these.
This link has the transparent file running and is used to sense when someone touches the touch-screen. This was created by BrightSign support. Obviously you can't see the transparent file so you will have to take my word for it.

Here is a link to the transparent overlay with the frame.

Allen H. Porter Maybe you are opening and accidentally editing the files with some sort of editor? Something that changes the properties?
These files are working on a 4k1042, 4k1142, 4k242, and an XD1033.

JRB Technical Are you using "Copy image" or "Save image as..." in the browser for Transparent PNG's?
I notice that in the Chrome and Firefox, if you use "Copy image" and paste into Photoshop, the Transparency changes to black.
If you use "Save image as..." and then load the image into Photoshop, the transparency remains as it should.
It is best not to use Copy/Paste for Transparent Images to retain the transparency properly.

Kyle Conner Thanks so much! I was able to get my transparency working with my video and I think I understand Bright Author a bit better.
Unfortunately, I have another problem. Do any of you know if you can layer an image with transparency over an mjpeg stream?

Soto, Jorge I'm in need of Transparent PNG with movie background. The old links are not active anymore. What is the trick to get PNG working on BrightAuthor. I'm using 4.7.2.18 and no getting transparency. I tried PNG image in html code. Thanks.
I have linked one that works for us.
