Displaying Output of Multiple BrightSign Players on One Screen

We use BrightSign players for our digital food menus in our cafeteria.  The menu items are setup with variables that are updated on a daily basis.  We want to have a screen outside the cafeteria with a BrightSign player that will display the BrightSign menus inside the cafeteria for that particular day.  Has anyone done something like this?

What you're describing is typically called a multiviewer - a display that tiles multiple separate inputs scaled down onto the same screen.  Oftentimes you can also switch to full-screen on any of the inputs as well.

Some KVM and matrix video switches also allow a tiled view, though those are typically geared for preview (reduced framerate and not seamless tiling) rather than true tiled display.

How many menus do you have?  Another possibility would be to stream the player output to an XD or XT player, then you could show two player's outputs simultaneously on one screen, or if you want to switch between players, you could do that as well.

You could do a new template for the player outside, that uses the same variables as the main menus. You could display them all on one screen with smaller fonts, or set up a loop of several views, that rotate every 10 seconds with the same full screen view of each of the separate menu board views.

We currently have a total of 7 XD1132 BrightSign Players being used for the menus.  The frequency of the menu choices changing varies across the 7 food stations so it might be possible that we only display the menus that change the most often.  Regardless it would be between 4 to 7 menus that would be displayed.  The player that would be used outside of the cafeteria would most likely be a XD1033.

In regards to Brandon's recommendation of streaming the player output to another XD player, can you tell me how I would go about doing this?

In regards to JohnLBV's recommendation, if I set up the same variables as the main menus, aren't there additional configurations needed in order for variables to pick up the information from the other menus?

    Streaming sounds interesting.

I wonder if screens shots could be served over http with the built-in server, and used in an HTML state on another player...

Displaying output from multiple BrightSign players on a single screen can be useful in a variety of applications, such as creating video walls, multi-source displays, or blending content from different sources for a unified visual experience. Here is how you can set it up and what considerations to keep in mind:

    1. Using a Video Wall Setup

BrightSign players are often used in video walls where multiple displays are combined to show a larger, single output. You can also use multiple BrightSign players to show distinct content on different sections of a single large display. To do this:

    • HDMI Matrix Switchers or Video Processors: Use a video wall processor or HDMI matrix switcher to input signals from multiple BrightSign players and split the output to a single screen.
    • Edge-Blending: Some setups may require blending the edges of the different outputs to ensure seamless transitions between content segments.
    • Configuration in BrightAuthor: You can configure BrightSign players in BrightAuthor or BrightAuthor

software to divide content and synchronize playback across multiple players using BSN.cloud or a local network.
