I am setting up slides in Google Slides. I publish the slide show and copy the URL. Inside BrightAuthor I create an HTML playlist and create the URL. I publish the BS presentation and all is good.
if I make changes in the Google Slide presentation, it doesn't automatically update in BrightSign. Is there a trick I am missing? How can I make it update when changes are made?
HTML5 states load on entry. They don't automatically reload or refresh unless there's code in the page to do so.
If you need the page to reload, in a non-interactive playlist, set the Time on Screen to a non-zero value (then it will advance to the next item, if there is none, it will loop back and reload the page).
In an interactive playlist, set a Timeout event that transitions back to the same state.
Brandon, it appears that having a timeout event after a HTML page without any other item after it does not reload the HTML page anymore. The work around we've found is you need to have 2 HTML widgets and have a timeout between them. This then refreshes the page and you see the changes you've made in your google slides presentation.
